Under the direction of Darin Drown, Sound of the Rockies
has been creating captivating, exciting a cappella music since January,
2000. The 100 (plus) voice, men's competition and world-class show
chorus performs for appreciative audiences throughout the greater Denver and
Front Range area.
July 4, 2008, Sound of the Rockies placed forth in the
Barbershop Harmony Society International Competition that was held in
Nashville, Tennessee (picture).
In July, 2007 the International Competition was held in Denver, Colorado and
Sound of the Rockies placed third. The contest set

was an audience favorite and featured Colorado My Home written by Meredith
Willson for his Broadway play, The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
The Sound of the Rockies repertoire includes a
wide variety of musical styles including Barbershop, Broadway, Big Band,
Gospel, Patriotic, Seasonal and Swing. Sound of the Rockies is the
current Rocky Mountain District champion chorus of the Barbershop Harmony
Society!
Quartets from the chorus also entertain audiences throughout the
region. An annual quartet favorite is presenting
Singing Valentines to sweethearts in the Denver area.
