Sound of the Rockies was formed in 2000 with a strong vision for its place in the Denver community.
Central to its mission is to enrich, inspire and to have a positive impact on performers of all ages. The ensemble has brought its mission to life by partnering with other Denver-area chorus groups and musical organizations to offer robust youth and educational programming.
Summer Harmony Camp
Summer Harmony Camp offers three days of intensive training for young men and women interested in a cappella singing. Based at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colo., the program provides a crash course in the intricacies of four-part, a cappella harmony, in-depth instruction in singing technique and some choreography. Classes are taught by some of the regions most seasoned performers, and campers have the opportunity to see successful ensembles at work. Participants end their camp experience with a performance for friends, family and other Colorado-based a cappella artists.
